Episode 2 Background Information

There is a bill in WA state parliament which would require ministers of religion to report child sexual abuse even if it were disclosed during religious confession. The area of contention only takes up 3 clauses of the 75-clause bill.  

Introduced last year, The Children and Community Services Amendment Bill includes clauses which have been drafted in response to the recommendations of the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse, namely Recommendation 7.3 and 7.4.
